HIRU FM and HIRU TV won all Media Honours at the SLIM Nielsen People’s Choice Awards thus re-establishing its popularity among the masses of Sri Lanka.

The Awards night was held in Colombo yesterday crowning HIRU FM and HIRU TV as the pioneers in the Local Media Industry.

HIRU FM bagged the award for the Best Radio Station while HIRU TV won the award for the Best Television Channel.

HIRU TV also won the award for the Best News Provider, while it also won the award for the Best Youth Television Channel at the SLIM Nielsen People’s Choice Awards.

HIRU FM meanwhile, also won the award for the best Youth Radio Channel.

The Best Television Presenter Award went to HIRU TV’s Rangana De Silva, while HIRU FM’s Aravinda Lokuge won the award for the Best Radio Presenter.

Asia Broadcasting Corporation’s Chairman Mr. Rayynor Silva has been the guiding force behind these outstanding achievements of HIRU FM and HIRU TV.

HIRU FM and HIRU TV along with other media channels initiated by him have already driven the local media industry towards a whole new dimension.

Expressing his sentiments over the achievements at SLIM Nielsen People’s Choice Awards, Chairman of Asia Broadcasting Corporation Mr. Rayynor Silva said that the people have born testament to his efforts in elevating the local media industry.

He also said that such local and international awards, further encourages Asia Broadcasting Corporation, while he went on to say that it was the hundreds and thousands of loyal listeners who were the actual owners of these awards.
